QS/1 to enable access to Rx videos from drug labels

June 11th, 2014

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – QS/1 is partnering with health care solution provider VUCA Health to offer prescription-specific videos and other services to pharmacy patients on demand.

QS/1 said Wednesday that pharmacies using its automation systems will be able to print QR codes on prescription labels that link to thousands of videos in VUCA's MedsOnCue library.

Designed to engage pharmacy patients, the web- and mobile-accessible videos — in English and Spanish — help patients review how to take their medications safely and feature easy-to-understand information on potential side effects and how to avoid reactions.

"By partnering with VUCA Health to bring MedsOnCue to our customers, we are taking pharmacy-patient communications to the next level," stated John Frady, QS/1's market analyst for the pharmacy sector. "MedsOnCue enables our pharmacies to positively impact health literacy and medication adherence by tapping into the power of on-demand video briefings that leverage the ubiquitous nature of mobile communications."

The MedsOnCue solution also includes three customizable services aimed at bolstering patient relationships and pharmacy loyalty, QS/1 added. Connect Me provides "click-to-call" access to client-designated pharmacies or call centers, while Remind Me offers streamlined registration with a medication alert and reminder program. In addition, Inform Me brings on-demand access to additional prescription information and health and wellness resources.

"Leading-edge companies like QS/1 recognize that coupling digital content with mobile technology creates a powerful platform from which pharmacies can deliver meaningful patient education that overcomes the barriers to medication adherence," according to VUCA Health chief executive officer David Medvedeff. "We are honored they have chosen to expand their pharmacy services to include MedsOnCue."
