Perrigo readies Advil Congestion Relief store brand

July 8th, 2014

DUBLIN, Ireland – Perrigo Co. announced that it's the first company to receive final approval from the Food and Drug Administration for a store-brand equivalent to Advil Congestion Relief Tablets.

Perrigo said Tuesday that it expects to begin shipment of its product, ibuprofen and phenylephrine hydrochloride tablets 200 mg/10 mg (OTC), before the upcoming cough, cold and flu season.

Pfizer Consumer Healthcare's Advil Congestion Relief Tablets are indicated for the relief of sinus pressure, nasal swelling and congestion and headache. Estimated annual sales of the product are approximately $18 million, according to Perrigo.

"This approval further strengthens our leading store-brand position and highlights our commitment to bringing new affordable products to the market," stated Perrigo chairman, president and chief executive officer Joseph Papa.
