Relief OTC brings new option for heartburn

August 13th, 2014

PHOENIX – The maker of Relief OTC, a new liquid antacid, thinks it has a quicker, more palatable solution for heartburn sufferers.

The Tummy Company Inc. said Wednesday that Relief OTC fills unmet demand in the market for fast-acting, drinkable heartburn relief with no known side effects.

Relief OTC is a clear liquid that's formulated to start neutralizing acid on contact and relieving acid indigestion immediately. What's more, the product comes in a pleasing orange creme flavor, eschewing the chalky flavor and gritty texture of most other antacids, according to the company.

Doug daCosta, executive chairman of the Tummy Company and a longtime heartburn sufferer, noted that Relief OTC brings a better option for alleviating heartburn. An estimated 100 million Americans experience heartburn several times a month, according to the American Gastroenterological Association.

"We have created something different for people who have all but given up in finding fast relief," daCosta commented.

Relief OTC, which began hitting retail shelves in late May, comes in 4-ounce and 12-ounce bottles. The liquid antacid is currently sold at such food and drug retailers as Walgreens, CVS/pharmacy, Kinney Drugs, Meijer, ShopRite, Price Chopper and Circle K. The product also is available online at Walgreens.com, drugstore.com and Amazon.com.
