Philips Norelco shaver tackles problem of ingrown hair
August 20th, 2014
STAMFORD, Conn. – Philips Norelco has designed its first electric shaver that reduces ingrown hair.
Philips Norelco CareTouch
The Philips Electronics subsidiary said Tuesday that the new Philips Norelco CareTouch shaver features innovations to help prevent the problem of ingrown facial hair while also being smooth on skin.
The shaver's GentleCut heads cut hair just above the skin level for a smooth shave without the irritation, the company said, and Aquatec Wet & Dry technology enables men to shave dry or wet with gel or foam for extra skin protection.
In addition, the Philips Norelco CareTouch has the Rotary Comfort system, which includes shaving heads that glide over the skin for enhanced comfort and smoothness.
"Creating meaningful innovation to improve people's lives is at the core of what Philips does," stated Annette Domnik, senior director of marketing for Philips Norelco. "With a void in the electric shaving market for men with sensitive skin who are prone to ingrown hairs, we were determined to design a shaver that addressed this, and the new Philips Norelco CareTouch delivers."
The Philips Norelco CareTouch retails for $59.99 and is sold at Walmart, Target, Walgreens, Amazon and other retailers.
Along with the launch of the new shaver, Philips Norelco has teamed with men's grooming expert Craig the Barber, author of TheMensRoom.com, to help men take control of their grooming routine. In a new video series from Philips Norelco, Craig the Barber addresses skin issues that men face every day, from choosing the right shaver to knowing which grooming product ingredients to avoid.
"The purpose of shaving is to remove the visual appearance of facial hair," commented Craig the Barber. "And the perfect tool to get a close, smooth shave with less irritation and ingrown hairs is the Philips Norelco CareTouch shaver, which cuts hair just above the skin level and can be used wet or dry for extra comfort."
