Pleio adds to retail pharmacy adherence services

BOSTON – Medication adherence specialist Pleio Inc. has added pharmacy-focused GoodStart patient support programs to boost PDC (proportion of days covered) scores and customer loyalty.

The company said Thursday that the new patient-centric offerings aid retail pharmacies by applying proven behavior shaping programs to specific disease states and drug classes, fostering medication adherence, higher PDC scores and improved health plan STAR Ratings.

"We are excited to be able to offer a new menu of patient support programs specifically designed to address some of retail pharmacy's most pressing business needs," stated Mark Connors, chief executive officer of Pleio.

The new services can be seamlessly integrated into any pharmacy's clinical or loyalty programs through multiple channels, including pharmacy website, smartphone apps, e-mail and text, according to Pleio.

Pleio added that its pharmacy-focused programs are supported by extensive reporting and data analysis, including PDC performance data, industry benchmarking and store-level revenue impact.

Also on Thursday, Pleio reported that it has hired Beth Bell as senior vice president of pharmacy services. In that role, she will lead Pleio's efforts to deliver innovative pharmacy-centric services.
