Sports nutrition brand adds Anytime Energy to lineup

DOWNERS GROVE, Ill. — Sports nutrition brand trusource is expanding its retail presence to Target, Walgreens, Giant Eagle and H-E-B.

Trusource said Wednesday that the broader distribution comes less than a year after its brand was exclusively at Kroger Co. supermarkets. The brand is distributed by Optimum Nutrition, a leader in sports nutrition.

“We have received a terrific response to trusource and that is fueling our nationwide retail expansion. Consumers praise the taste and overall experience of trusource products and repeat purchase is strong,” trusource senior brand manager Nabil Wanna stated. “We created trusource to address an unmet need in the sports nutrition market. This is a brand for the everyday athlete, with easy-to-mix protein powders and delicious ready-to-drink products for anyone with a fitness goal.”

This fall, trusource is adding Anytime Energy to its product roster. Anytime Energy comes in an easy-to-mix powder and in ready-to-drink bottles and delivers amino acids and caffeine from natural sources to help support muscle recovery, energy and focus. Each Anytime Energy product contains 100 mg of caffeine — about as much as a cup of coffee — and 10 calories per serving, according to the company.

Slated to become available in early 2017, Anytime Energy powder comes in Orange Blast, with Watermelon Rush flavors, while the ready-to-drink version comes in Orange Blast and Fruit Punch.

Trusource said Giant Eagle and H-E-B in Texas will be the first retailers to offer the Anytime Energy products.

Other trusource products include Anytime Protein powder (Chocolate Shake and Vanilla Shake flavors), Protein+Energy powder (Vanilla Latte and Chocolate Mocha flavors), the Protein Water ready-to-drink protein beverage (Citrus Splash, Fruit Passion and Blue Raspberry flavors) and the Protein Java ready-to-drink iced coffee beverage.
