DENVER — NACDS-TV gave a look at the packed exhibit hall as the show floor opened on Sunday, day two, at the 2015 NACDS Total Store Expo.

Steve Anderson, president and chief executive officer of the National Association of Chain Drug Stores, noted that the turnout for this year’s Total Store Expo shows how well the event has been received since its inception in 2013.

“The fact that trade show floor sold out very, very quickly, and the thousands of people that we have here — and it’s only our third Total Store Expo. We combined three trade shows into to one to create this. So it’s been warmly embraced,” Anderson said.

Also in this video report from NACDS-TV on day two of the Total Store Expo, hear from exhibitors and retailers on the show floor and get a look at some of the day’s most-attended events, including a sessions on Millennial consumers and the pharmaceutical market, as well as a keynote address by TV news legend Tom Brokaw, who also talks with NACDS-TV.

“The industry that you represent really has taken Main Street to a whole new level. You are, in a way, the new Main Street of America,” Brokaw told attendees.

NACDS-TV also caught up with U.S. Rep. Buddy Carter (R., Ga.), currently the only pharmacist serving in Congress.

“One of the things you can do is become involved, particularly politically. Let’s face it: Politics plays a part in our profession,” Carter said. “Get to know your congressman. Get to know your local and state officials. It’s important, because they do have a big impact on our profession.”
