ALEXANDRIA, Va. – The 2023 PQA Annual Meeting is May 10-12 at the Omni Nashville Hotel in Nashville, Tenn. The meeting is a top destination for health care quality professionals, who are focused on improving medication safety, adherence, appropriate use and medication management services.

More than 400 leaders from PQA member organizations will be in attendance to network, engage and learn from more than 50 speakers across 20 sessions. Focused on the rapidly evolving health care quality landscape, the meeting’s general sessions address:

• the Future of Medicare Part C & D Quality Programs,
• Solutions to Improve Equity in Medication Use Quality, and
• Implications of the Inflation Reduction Act on Medication Access and Affordability.

Cost will open the meeting with remarks on PQA’s work to modernize medication use quality measures, research to solve persistent measurement challenges and efforts to address health equity and improve diversity and inclusion.

Henry Hicks, president and CEO of the National Museum of African American Music in Nashville, will follow Cost with a keynote on the insights we can draw from hip-hop music for engaging marginalized communities in our work to achieve high-quality medication use for all populations.

In addition to thought-provoking general sessions, the meeting includes 15 breakout sessions with cross-cutting industry perspectives on health equity, value-based care, pharmacist-provided care and more. Attendees can earn 0.3 CEUs of continuing pharmacy education credit through the breakouts. An additional four-hour training on medication use quality is available as a pre-meeting event on May 10 from 8:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. CT.

Across the meeting, there are numerous opportunities to build business relationships and forge new partnerships in quality. A series of special sessions will showcase successful approaches, technologies and emerging opportunities to improve medication services.

The 2023 PQA Laura Cranston Excellence in Quality or Quality Improvement Award, for high achievement or significant improvement in PQA measures of medication safety and appropriate use, will be announced at the meeting on May 11.

Rounding out the program is the PQA Annual Meeting Poster Session, which is sponsored by Pharmacy Quality Solutions. There will be 24 posters presented and awards presented, including one for best student poster.
