90s workout legends team with Michelob ULTRA to celebrate the revival of at-home fitness

NEW YORK— At-home workouts have evolved from a thing of the past to the new norm with high-tech spin bikes and streaming fitness platforms taking center stage. To celebrate those who have stayed active while staying home during these past few months, Michelob ULTRA is bringing together the mavericks of at-home fitness including Billy BlanksSuzanne Somers and Jake “Body by Jake” Steinfeld for a special “ULTRA Throwback Thursday” livestreamed sweat session as part of its Movement by Michelob ULTRA LIVE series.

On Thursday, June 25thBilly Blanks will lead America through his iconic Tae Bo workout followed by a retro reunion happy hour with Suzanne Somers hosted by Jake “Body by Jake” Steinfeld for a toast to the revival of at-home fitness and discussion on how far we’ve come since the VCR fitness tape era. Viewers can tune in this Thursday at 6pm EST on Michelob ULTRA’s social channels to get their sweat on and be part of the ultimate retro reunion.

“This special edition of Movement LIVE is all about brining joy and nostalgia to people’s at-home workout routines, while paying homage to the legends who revolutionized the fitness industry,” said Ricardo Marques, vice president, Michelob ULTRA.  “We’re excited for the chance to relive some great times that these legends brought us back then and continue to bring us now.”

Along with reuniting these ’90s workout legends, Michelob ULTRA and partner OPTIMUM NUTRITION (ON) are supporting Black entrepreneurs in the fitness community with $10,000donations to Level Up Fitness (Eden Prairie, MN) and Wurk (Minnetonka, MN) – two Black-owned gyms that were greatly affected by the COVID-19 crisis.

“At-home fitness has always been an important part of my life, so I’ve loved seeing the joy it’s brought so many people during these challenging past few months,” said Billy Blanks. “ULTRA Throwback Thursday honors both the veterans and the rookies of at-home fitness and unites us all over a love of a good sweat and a cold beer.”

“ULTRA Throwback Thursday” comes as part of Michelob ULTRA’s ongoing support of the fitness community through Movement by Michelob ULTRA Live, a virtual workout series led by celebrities and top trainers to provide relief to local gyms across the country that have been impacted by COVID-19, while also offering people a fun way to stay active at-home.
