CLEVELAND — American Greetings is looking to get some laughs this holiday season.

The greeting card maker this week introduced American Greetings Wacky Wonderland Christmas cards, which the company said are designed to shake up the holiday with irreverent humor.

Wacky Wonderland Christmas cards feature unexpected characters that sing and bounce inside realistic snow globes, along with pun-centric wishes and hilarious songs to get the recipients laughing out loud, American Greetings said.

Designs in the whimsical holiday card line include a slice of pepperoni pie requesting “pizza on Earth,” a yuletide turd piling on the merry and a playful kitten caroling about a “meow-y Christmas.”

“Christmastime is often described as magical, and that spirit of the season can come from the nostalgia of time-honored traditions or the excitement of something brand-new,” stated Carol Miller, vice president of corporate innovation at American Greetings. “The Wacky Wonderland collection brings together classic snow globes, comical characters and original songs for an extra jolly way to share the perfect mix of holiday fun.”

Wacky Wonderland cards are available at chain drug, supermarket and mass retailers nationwide, as well as at American Greetings and Carlton Cards retail stores.
