TORONTO — Axxess Pharma Inc. is targeting large pharmacy retailers with a pair of new over-the-counter health products.

Known for nutritional supplement, pain relief and other products under the TapouT brand, Axxess said that through its AllStar Health Brands Inc. subsidiary it plans to distribute Septicon mouthwash and Rompe Pecho Syrup, a cough/cold formula.

The company reported that it aims to distribute both health care products in the United States, “with a special focus on big-box retailers such as CVS and Super Stop & Shop.”

Septicon is an alcohol-free, antibacterial and antiseptic mouthwash, aimed at the prevention of tooth decay while reducing plaque and tartar. Axxess said the oral hygiene product also can provide benefits to people with diabetes, systemic diseases such as Sjorgen’s syndrome, xerostomia (dry mouth) and low saliva flow from drug side effects, as well as those undergoing radiation therapy.

The company also noted that studies by BioMed Research International find that alcohol-free mouthwashes have a better effect on the gloss, color and hardness of teeth, compared with mouthwashes containing alcohol.

A cough remedy, Rompe Pecho Syrup is formulated to help in alleviate respiratory tract ailments such as the common flu. Axxess said the product also helps ease congestion and cough by decreasing secretions.

“Our new line of oral health care products are designed to assist with the needs of those with diabetes and other medical conditions, while being easily accessible as an over-the-counter product. Our products also meet the needs of those with no specific medical condition but seek to improve their overall hygiene and health,” stated Daniel Bagi, president of Axxess Pharma.

Bagi added, “We anticipate strong growth of our product line based on our pricing, packaging, performance and overall rising global demand within the oral health care sector.”
