SEATTLE — Brent Beebe has been appointed senior vice president of merchandising at Bartell Drugs, the oldest drug chain in th United States.

He will develop and lead all aspects of merchandising and category management for the family-owned chain, as well as oversee merchandising innovation for the retailer’s 63 stores, which are located throughout King, Pierce and Snohomish counties in Washington state.

Before joining Bartell, Beebe was vice president and general merchandise manager at Jo-Ann Stores Inc.

Bartell, known for its involvement in the community, recently held its “Spring Health & Beauty Event” at participating Bartells locations.

The initiative featured health clinics, free beauty “mini makeover” demonstrations and hairstyling tips along with product samples ranging from cosmetics to dental care. Health events also included mobile digital mammography screenings at nine stores.
