SEATTLE– The key to protection from the flu is getting immunized early and safely. Bartell Drugs is taking a calculated approach to help customers get vaccinated during the pandemic.

“Getting vaccinated for the flu is more important now than ever. Getting a flu shot early in the season will reduce the spread of the flu, leaving healthcare providers to focus on patients battling COVID-19.” said Billy Chow, vice preseident of pharmacy at Bartell Drugs.

To maintain safe distancing in waiting areas, Bartell’s has implemented a scheduling system. The scheduling system creates the appropriate amount of time between customers to allow for critical cleaning practices. Customers seeking vaccinations may schedule an appointment online at www.bartelldrugs.com/flu. Upon arrival, customers should check in at the pharmacy drop-off window while maintaining safe distancing in the waiting area. All parties must wear a mask for the duration of the appointment. To further protect customers and Bartell’s staff, pharmacists will be wearing proper PPE including masks and gloves. The pharmacy staff will also conduct a short health screening prior to administering the vaccination.

Bartell’s pharmacists are prepared to help protect communities now with a full stock of flu vaccines at all 67 neighborhood locations. The CDC recommends that everyone 6 months and older get their flu vaccine before the end of October to prevent the spread of flu before the season begins. Bartell’s pharmacy can accommodate anyone 3 years of age and older.
