Bartell Drugs has opened the doors for its 58th drug store location in the Midlakes area of Bellevue, Wash.

The nearly 12,000-square-foot store features a new full-service pharmacy presentation, including clinical care services and an international travel clinic, according to Bartell, which marks its 120th anniversary this year.

SEATTLE — Bartell Drugs has opened the doors for its 58th drug store location in the Midlakes area of Bellevue, Wash.

The Puget Sound, Wash.-area pharmacy chain said Wednesday that the new 11,782 square-foot store was formerly a Lamps Plus location. Plans call for a grand opening ceremony on July 12 and a ribbon-cutting event on July 13 as members of the Bartell family, employees, vendors and local dignitaries celebrate the store’s opening and Bartell’s 120th anniversary.

"The opening of our new Bellevue store is a great way for us to add to the celebration of our 120th anniversary," chairman and chief executive officer George Bartell said in a statement. "With close proximity to Overlake Hospital, the new Seattle Children’s Bellevue Clinic and Surgery Center, and area neighborhoods, we will be able to provide new levels of convenience and services for Bellevue customers."

The Midlakes store features a new full-service pharmacy presentation, including clinical care services and an international travel clinic, according to Bartell Drugs.

Product assortments include many natural and organic health, beauty and cleaning products, along with nutritional supplements, a wide selection of convenience foods and greeting cards. And the retailer noted that in keeping with its goal to expand product offerings for customers, the new store has a select offering of beer and wine, including many local Northwest wines.

In addition, the Midlakes store features Bartell’s PixPlus photo department, offering digital print kiosks, a broader selection of camera and sound electronics, on-site one-hour photo finishing and a passport photo center.

Overall in 2010, Bartell Drugs plans two new stores and three major remodels, George Bartell told Chain Drug Review in an interview earlier this year. Last year, the drug chain opened three new stores, in Issaquah, Mill Creek and Lynwood, Wash.
