SEATTLE — Bartell Drugs has launched a rewards program encouraging customers to pursue healthy lifestyles.

The initiative is a joint venture with EveryMove, an online program that rewards people for healthy choices.

Customers who sign up for the rewards program will earn rewards such as Bartell gift cards as they track healthy lifestyle activities at EveryMove.org/bartelldrugs.

Through the EveryMove program, participants can link to a range of online health-tracking applications and earn points for a variety of activities, including walking, running, biking and visits to the gym.

“Bartell Drugs shares our vision of rewarding customers committed to making healthy lifestyle choices,” said Russell Benaroya, cofounder and chief executive officer of Seattle-based EveryMove. “Together, we are offering a new and personalized tool that provides consumers with additional incentives to achieve their fitness goals.”

EveryMove rewards such as merchandise and gift cards from local merchants can be supplemented by additional rewards sponsored by an employer or health plan.

Bartell this year is also celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Space Needle — a centerpiece of the 1962 Seattle World’s Fair — with a variety of community-focused promotions and events. A photo and drawing of the landmark are featured on reusable Bartell shopping bags.
