Bartell readies new headquarters

SEATTLE — Bartell Drugs will move its corporate headquarters to West Seattle in October.

The 58-store regional drug chain has occupied its current location in downtown Seattle since 1989. Founded in 1890, Bartell’s store network extends across three counties: King, Snohomish and Pierce.

The company’s current headquarters site originally housed both its head office and its warehouse facilities, which have been separated in recent years.

The new offices will occupy 32,000 square feet at 4025 Delridge Way Southwest, in the West Seattle Corporate Center.

“We’re excited about the move and the built-in advantages it will provide for nearly 100 employees and visiting vendors,” says vice chairman and treasurer Jean Bartell Barber, who cites such advantages as convenient parking, easy access to major highways, mass transit options, upgraded fiber optic capabilities and nearby amenities.

The West Seattle Corporate Center was originally built in 1991 as the headquarters for Services Group of America.
