SEATTLE — In partnership with The Salvation Army and local radio station WARM 106.9, Bartell’s is once again hosting the Toy N’ Joy program.  This program is designed to collect new, unwrapped toys for local children during the holidays. Bartell’s has hosted the Toy N’ Joy event for the past 17 years.

“We are so grateful to Bartell Drugs and its customers for their commitment to helping local families during the holiday season” said Lt. Colonel Bill Dickinson, divisional commander of The Salvation Army in the Northwest. “Together we are making the holidays a little bit brighter for our neighbors in need.”

Just before Christmas, Salvation Army volunteers meet to sort the toys collected during the donation drive. On December 17th, families supported by Salvation Army are invited to CenturyLink Field Event Center to “shop” for the holidays at no cost to them.

With the support of the community, Bartell’s has been successful in helping make the season brighter for those families with a huge success in 2018 collecting over $135,000 in donations of toys.

The retailer said that there are two easy ways to donate to Toy N’ Joy. From November 15th through December 9th, customers can visit all Bartell’s locations, purchase a gift of their choice and deposit that toy into the red donation bins at the front of the store. Cash donations are also welcome at the register.
