Beth Sweetman joins Hallmark as SVP, human resources

KANSAS CITY — Beth Sweetman has joined Hallmark as a corporate officer and will serve as senior vice president of human resources. Sweetman brings more than 25 years of experience in the human resources industry, most recently serving as senior vice president and chief human resources officer for DST Systems, Inc. in Kansas City, Mo. Sweetman replaces Bob Bloss, who is retiring from the company and will depart Jan. 2, 2019.

In this role, Sweetman will oversee all aspects of Hallmark’s human resource operations for its Hallmark Greetings, Retail, and Home and Gifts businesses, and corporate support functions, in addition to employee relations, supply chain, corporate wellness, and recruiting.

Prior to joining Hallmark, Sweetman’s aforementioned appointment at DST Systems, Inc. came after serving as senior vice president of human resources for Furniture Brands International. In addition, she spent 14 years working in human resources for Monsanto Company, both as vice president of North America and vice president of international.
