DUBLIN, Ohio – Cardinal Health has been named to Seramount’s sixth annual Inclusion Index, a competitive listing that measures organizations’ success in effective diversity, equity and inclusion (DE&I) efforts in the workplace.

Cardinal Health is one of just 54 organizations that earned a qualifying score for placement in the 2022 Index, which measures data across three key areas: best practices in the recruitment, retention, and advancement of people from underrepresented groups; inclusive corporate culture, including leadership accountability; and demographic diversity for women and racial and ethnic minorities. Organizations had to receive a score of 60% or higher to be included in the Index.

Devray Kirkland, Cardinal Health’s chief DE&I officer, said, “Our strong focus on DE&I enables us to attract and retain the best talent, and we’ve put an emphasis on increasing representation of diverse employees at the manager level and above. When we are diverse, equitable and inclusive, we are more innovative and creative, we make better decisions and we solve problems faster.”

Multiple internal organizations are helping to drive Cardinal Health’s DE&I efforts. These include the Black and African American Racial Equity Cabinet, the DE&I Steering Council, GenerationNext (a cohort of manager- and director-level employees who support the Black and African American Racial Equity Cabinet and the DE&I Steering Council), Employee Resource Groups (ERGs), Multi-Cultural Communities (created to engage employees outside the U.S. in our DE&I work), volunteer DE&I Ambassadors and others. “Together, our leaders and these employee organizations are creating a great place to work for all talent,” Kirkland said.
