CARE appoints two industry vets to its board

LINTHICUM, MD — CARE Pharmacies Cooperative Inc. has named Lionel Phillips and Dean Gruber to its 2019 Board of Directors. Both appointees have been recognized nationally for their continued contributions to community and retail pharmacy. “We are fortunate to add these two dynamic industry veterans to our leadership team”, said Mike Wysong, CEO of CARE Pharmacies. “Both gentlemen bring a wealth of experience in their respective areas of expertise, which should help CARE Pharmacies continue to navigate through the complexities of today’s changing healthcare model.”

Phillips is the founder and owner of Inside Edge Consulting Group, Inc., a pharmaceutical and biotech marketing consulting firm based in Princeton, N.J. Inside Edge specializes in obtaining insights and developing programs to support go-to-market growth strategy initiatives.  The company has a focus on the health of underserved minority populations and supports initiatives such as clinical trial enrollment and community based awareness and education programs. Phillips is the Board Chair of a non-profit organization focused on minority health, the Make Well Known Foundation. He received an MBA specializing in Pharmaceutical and Healthcare Marketing from St. Joseph’s University Haub School of Business. Gruber is the current Vice President of Trade Relations for Owl Specialty and altScripts Pharmacies. He holds a degree from the pharmacy school at the University of Wisconsin and has worked in the retail chain, retail community, and specialty pharmacy settings.
