LINTHICUM, Md. — Retail pharmacy industry veteran Michael Cantrell has joined the board of directors at Care Pharmacies Cooperative Inc.

Care Pharmacies said Cantrell, vice president of pharmacy network development at Ateb Inc., will serve a three-year term.

Cantrell has more than 30 years of industry experience. Before joining Ateb in July, he served as senior vice president of retail health at Shopko and vice president of pharmacy at Delhaize America.

Prior to joining Delhaize, Cantrell held several executive posts at AmerisourceBergen Corp., most recently group vice president of managed networks. He also served as group vice president of retail business development at AmerisourceBergen and as president of the drug distributor’s Good Neighbor Pharmacy network.

And before his tenure at AmerisourceBergen, he was vice president of professional services and chief privacy official at Longs Drug Stores (now part of CVS Health), where he was named to the board of RxAmerica.
