KISSIMMEE, Fla. — The Chain Drug Marketing Association’s (CDMA’s) 86th Annual Trade Expo here last month attracted a record-breaking number of attendees, the group says.

The show offered attendees access to 110 exhibitors on its trade floor, a store brand forum, the CDMA Showroom and the association’s direct import program.

In addition, CDMA shareholders elected Nancy Wharmby of Medicine Center/Medicine Shoppe Pharmacies as the newest member of the association’s board of directors.

The show’s store brand forum enabled buyers to meet one on one with private label suppliers to learn about new product launches, display opportunities and discounts.

The CDMA Showroom had a wide variety of everyday, seasonal and promotional products with 500 items across front-end merchandise categories. Additionally, over 500 high-margin items were featured in the show’s direct import showroom. These items were primarily seasonal and focused on the fourth quarter.

Meanwhile, on the social front, CDMA chairman Jack Walker devoted part of his remarks at the 86th annual chairman’s reception and dinner to recognize CDMA members who have contributed to the success of the association.

Among those recognized at the dinner were Powhatan Pharmacy (member of the year), Today’s Optical (associate of the year), Guardian Drug Co. (store brand supplier of the year) and Rochester Drug Co. (store brand member of the year).

Of the more than 82 products that were featured in the event’s Product Showcase, buyers chose ENB Science LLC’s True-Dose line of pet nutraceuticals as the top item, citing its innovative and unique products as well as distinct packaging as setting it apart from the other featured products.
