Champagne to become president of McKesson Canada

ST. LAURENT, Quebec — Alain Champagne will become president of McKesson Canada effective July 16.

Champagne, whose promotion was announced last month, was previously senior vice president, pharmaceutical distribution and operations since joining the company in 2010. In this capacity he was responsible for all sales and marketing activities of distribution solutions and services.

“Alain brings a deep knowledge of McKesson Canada’s business and customers to his new role and will focus on continuing to bring value and growth opportunities to all the company’s partners,” said Paul Julian, McKesson Corp.’s executive vice president and group president.

Champagne, who replaces Nick Loporcaro, who has been appointed president for McKesson Specialty Health, said, “I am delighted to take on this new role and continue the work initiated with Nick to position McKesson Canada for future growth. Our portfolio of businesses allows us to solve the significant health care challenges we face as a country. We are committed to bringing added-value services and solutions to all our customers and partners with the ultimate goal of improving patient access to care and outcomes.”

The company also announced that Paula Keays, current chief financial officer, will become senior vice president, pharmaceutical distribution and operations.

Since joining McKesson Canada in 2000, Keays has been in charge of its overall financial plans and policies, along with overseeing all Six Sigma ­operations.
