NEW YORK — Copper Compression, a designer, manufacturer and provider of a wide range of copper-infused recovery wearables and self-care solutions, announced Wednesday the company has donated and delivered 18,000 Kn99 copper-infused face masks across several local New York City/New Jersey area health systems. Due to the Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) outbreak, the masks are being distributed to health care workers in critical need of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

The copper ion-infused face masks feature a four-layer structure that blocks 99% of fine particulate matter with an antimicrobial and antibacterial outer layer. Copper is well-known for its ability to stop and kill the growth of bacteria and other infectious pathogens, and the 99% filter boasts the highest protection available today. The masks are washable, reusable and sustainable, without any loss of hygienic potency over time. Their copper protection will last through the lifespan of the product and never washes out. The interior is 100% cotton-lined and provides space for ventilation and moisture absorption.

Copper Compression identified appropriate healthcare organizations in need throughout the metro-New York/ New Jersey area, and is dispersing these masks to: the office of Governor Andrew Cuomo (D, N.Y.); NYU Langone Health, one the nation’s premier academic medical centers; Lenox Hill Oncology, part of Northwell Health; Atlantic Health System, a leading New Jersey healthcare organization; RWJBarnabas, the leading academic health system in New Jersey, and; Flatbush Hatzoloh, the largest affiliate of the Hatzoloh volunteer ambulance service in the U.S.

“Initially, Copper Compression was in the process of launching a new hygienic travel line and had a vision to be the first to introduce an antibacterial consumer mask that was reliable and reusable. Coincidentally, the development of our masks was completed prior to the widespread outbreak of COVID-19. We could have never predicted the market timing or demand for this product, but as public healthcare needs surged for PPE, we immediately decided to donate our first shipment to local healthcare systems. It is extremely comforting to know that our antibacterial reusable masks are arming and protecting our healthcare forces at the forefront of the pandemic. We are gratified to make this contribution at a time of crisis within our community and the world,” said Joey Braha, brand director at Copper Compression.

Copper Compression will have its Kn99 masks available for public purchase on April 15.

“Amid this fast-changing coronavirus outbreak, we continue to offer a broad range of highly rated copper-infused products, all of which are guaranteed to contain the highest copper content available on the market. In the case of the masks, this is exactly what will make the difference in the help we are bringing to frontline healthcare workers in this time of urgency. We will continue to identify and develop products that positively impact health and wellness, especially in light of recent events. To this end, we will continue shaping our travel collection, adding products we believe will benefit and protect consumers long after this pandemic,” explained Bobby Cohen, president at Copper Compression.

Some of Copper Compression’s highest-rated products have more relevance now than ever, including its full-finger copper-infused glove, which offers all the same features as the mask, with the added benefit of targeted compression relief. The glove delivers enhanced protection for consumers striving to defend themselves against COVID-19 and resists bacteria on commonly touched surfaces, such as door handles, elevator buttons, credit card pin pads, gas pumps and much more.
