“I’m delighted to be joining Coty, given the level of executive buy-in I’ve seen around digital,” Foster commented. “It’s going to be a great chapter building Coty’s e-commerce teams and working with our markets to outperform on brand and retailer e-commerce KPIs [key performance indicators].”

Foster will be tasked with building out better omnichannel user journeys and amplifying e-commerce domain depth across Coty’s major markets via accelerated recruitment and capability investments, Coty said.

“Digital is a cornerstone of our strategy for the new Coty. At the core of this focus is our commitment to working with our priority retailer, salon and stylist partners to drive category growth. We are excited to welcome Sean to Coty to help us build a richer set of e-commerce capabilities,” Coty CEO Camillo Pane stated.

Coty noted that Foster brings more than 20 years of digital and e-commerce experience, including as CEO of Crowdtap, an online community that connects consumers with brands, as well as president of Avon online and the head of Marketing for Gilt.com.

Foster will be based in New York, reporting into Jason Forbes, chief digital and media officer for Coty.

“We’ve been building four digital pillars: marketing science, content foundry, media optimization and omnichannel,” according to Forbes. “Our priority is expanding consumer reach with better content on the right media platforms to drive sales in a highly fluid marketplace. Sean’s background is a perfect fit for this.”

Coty’s roster of brands includes CoverGirl, Max Factor, Rimmel, Calvin Klein, Marc Jacobs, Hugo Boss, Gucci, philosophy, Wella Professionals, Sebastian Professional, OPI and ghd. Coty Consumer Beauty encompasses color cosmetics, retail hair coloring and styling products, body care and mass fragrances. Coty Luxury includes prestige fragrances and skin care, while Coty Professional Beauty serves salon, hair and nail professionals.
