NEW YORK — L’Oréal ACD announced that licensed pharmacist Crystal Yu has joined their Integrated Health team. Integrated Health is dedicated to supporting pharmacists with clinical information to assist them in counseling patients as it relates to their skin health.

Yu joins a team that has been working with the merchandising and pharmacy teams at various retailers, large and small, to create meaningful pharmacy and clinic activation programs. “Adding a licensed pharmacist to our team strengthens the relevance and impact we can have with pharmacists, and ultimately, patients” said Gina Daley, head of Integrated Health for ACD.

The CeraVe and La Roche-Posay brands have a deep legacy in dermatology and ACD has the largest sales OTC sales force in the dermatology space. Dermatologists are often driving patients into retail pharmacy to pick up their prescriptions and adjunctive therapy skin care. “Implementing powerful programs where the pharmacist can reinforce that dermatologist recommendation and effectively counsel patients on therapeutic skin care can lead to a very positive patient experience,” said Tina Fair, president of L’Oréal ACD “and having a licensed pharmacist driving these programs reinforces the value we bring to our retailer partners.”

Yu has over 10 years of diverse clinical and non-traditional experience. She discovered her passion for over-the-counter skincare at the beginning of her career in community pharmacy, and in her clinic years, she continued to support patients on their skincare needs related to medication and health conditions. L’Oréal ACD skincare also touches her on a personal level, as she is a parent of an eczema and multiple food-allergies child. Through much trial and error, CeraVe products and topical prescriptions have helped to repair her daughter’s skin barrier. Crystal’s vision as a pharmacist is to seek better patient outcomes through skincare education.

In addition to pharmacist activation at retail, Yu will work on supporting pharmacy schools, residency programs, and pharmacist associations.
