WOONSOCKET, R.I. — David Casey has been named vice president and diversity officer at CVS Caremark Corp.

In the position, Casey will lead the drug store and pharmacy benefit management company’s efforts related to strategic diversity management.

Casey joins CVS Caremark from WellPoint, where he was chief diversity officer. He also has served as regional director of business development at Bernard Hodes Group.

CVS Caremark said Casey serves on advisory boards for the American Institute for Managing Diversity and Profiles in Diversity Journal, where he is also a contributing columnist. He was inducted into the National Eagle Leadership Institute in 2006 and is a member of the Society of Human Resources Management.
