WOONSOCKET, R.I. — As it continues to revamp its Gold Emblem line of store brand food, CVS/pharmacy has launched Gold Emblem Select, an assortment of what the company is calling “items that celebrate the exceptional in everyday food, beverage and snack products.”

The first item in the new line is coffee, with three premium ground coffee flavors — French Roast, Donut Shop blend and Toasted Hazelnut — being added to store shelves.

“At CVS/pharmacy we are committed to meeting our customers’ needs, and that includes continuing to innovate with our exclusive brands to offer new, high-quality, affordable products we know they’ll love,” says vice president of merchandising, store brands and quality assurance George Coleman. “The new additions to Gold Emblem, including the introduction of Gold Emblem Select, deliver on that promise with delicious flavors and quality ingredients.”

In addition, the company has added several new items to its overall Gold Emblem private label line, which was relaunched earlier this year.

Among the new products are snack bars, including a strawberry-flavor breakfast bar, a blueberry Greek yogurt bar (made with real blueberries), a trail mix bar and a chewy chocolate bar.

Other new items in the Gold Emblem Line are dark-chocolate-covered fruit (blueberries and pomegranate); nuts, including salt-and-pepper flavor pistachios, habanero barbecue almonds, honey Dijon almonds, unsalted mixed nuts, berries and cherries nut clusters, and almond nut clusters; four varieties of fruit-flavor sparkling water in single-serve 17-ounce bottles; black tea; and ranch-flavor pretzel pieces.

Coleman explains that all new Gold Emblem items are evaluated using a rigorous taste-testing process that includes an in-house panel and an external third-party panel of professional taste testers.
