ARLINGTON, Va. — The Healthcare Distribution Alliance (HDA) announces Elyse Petroni has joined the association as Vice President of Communications and Marketing. In this role, Ms. Petroni will work to promote the value of the healthcare distribution industry, while advancing the organization’s advocacy agenda with the media, policymakers and other key stakeholders.

“Elyse brings to HDA a diverse communications and media affairs background that will be a vital asset as our team enhances its efforts to raise awareness and recognition of the essential role distributors play in delivering pharmaceuticals, healthcare products and medical-surgical equipment,” said Chester “Chip” Davis, Jr., president and CEO, HDA. “We are thrilled to welcome her to the HDA team.”

In this new role at HDA, she also will manage HDA’s digital presence and collaborate with the HDA Research Foundation to raise awareness about its research program designed to educate external audiences about the savings and efficiencies delivered by HDA-member distributors and the healthcare supply chain. She will report to HDA’s Senior Vice President of Communications, John Parker.

Petroni most recently served as Associate Vice President of Public Affairs for the Advanced Medical Technology Association (AdvaMed), where she devised and implemented strategic communications and public affairs programs to educate audiences on policy priorities affecting the medtech industry. She previously served as AdvaMed’s Director of Public Affairs, Digital Advocacy and Social Media. Before AdvaMed, Ms. Petroni held positions at the American Academy of Nursing, Story Partners and Golin. She is a graduate of West Virginia University.
