CHATHAM, N.J. — Exeltis USA’s Pregnitude, a dietary supplement formulated to support reproductive health, has rolled out on shelves at nearly 1,200 Walgreens stores nationwide.

Pregnitude_Exeltis USAPregnitude‘s key ingredients are myo-inositol and folic acid, and research studies report that taking a combination of myo-inositol (a naturally occurring substance produced by the human body from glucose) and folic acid (a B vitamin that promotes cell growth) in therapeutic doses promotes menstrual regularity, ovulatory function and higher-quality eggs, according to Exeltis.

Common reasons why women may experience difficulties conceiving include age, irregular ovulation cycles and poor egg quality, which may be associated with stress, lifestyle or diet, the company noted.

“Ideally, women concerned about their ability to conceive may want to explore a natural approach before they opt for medical therapies, artificial insemination or assisted reproductive technology,” explained Dr. Georgianna Donadio, founder and director of the Boston-based National Institute of Whole Health.

Pregnitude contains 2000 mg of myo-inositol as well as 200 mcg of folic acid. Each box of Pregnitude has 60 packets, designed to last one month at the recommended dosage of twice daily (once in the a.m. and once in the p.m.). Users just need to pour one packet of the powder into an 8-ounce glass of water and stir.

“Consumers have had very positive responses about Pregnitude,” stated Maria Carell, chief executive officer of Exeltis USA, the U.S. distributor of Pregnitude. “The fact that Pregnitude is generally well-tolerated is also reassuring to both women and their doctors.”
