Femmenessence menopause brand hits shelves at CVS

SAN FRANCISCO — Natural Health International has rolled out its Femmenessence menopause products to CVS/pharmacy stores nationwide.

The company said Thursday that Femmenessence is the first natural supplement to demonstrate, in published clinical trials, statistically significant effects on hormones in peri- and post-menopausal women.


Common menopause symptoms — such as mood swings, hair loss, weight gain, sleep issues, low energy, headaches, libido changes, night sweats and hot flashes — are caused by the fluctuation of hormones during peri-menopause and reduced hormone production post-menopause, according to Natural Health International.

Clinical studies of Femmenessence showed more than eight out of 10 women using the products experienced a reduction of menopausal symptoms within two days to eight weeks.

On average, participants in the clinical research reported improvements in mood, hot flashes, night sweats, libido, vaginal dryness, sleep and energy levels within three weeks, which is within the use of one package of the product, the company said.

“Our new relationship with CVS/pharmacy expands the availability of Femmenessence to women interested in safe, effective and natural ways to manage the symptoms of menopause – particularly during peri-menopause and after menopause,” stated James Frame, chief executive officer of Natural Health International.

“Femmenessence takes a fresh approach to women’s health, addressing the cause, not just the symptom,” added Frame. “Femmenessence does not introduce any hormones into the body but instead supports the body’s own hormone production, a more natural approach.”

Femmenessence works by nourishing the glands in the body responsible for hormone production with a concentrated proprietary blend of maca, a root that grows in the mountains of Peru.

Three Femmenessence products for women are now available at CVS/pharmacy: Femmenessence MacaPause for hormone balance at age 50, 60, 70 and beyond; Femmenessence MacaLife for hormone balance during peri-menopause; and Femmenessence MacaHarmony for hormone balance, menstrual and reproductive health.
