WOONSOCKET, R.I. — CVS Health has opened its first MinuteClinic inside a Navarro Discount Pharmacy store.

The new MinuteClinic walk-in medical clinic inside the Navarro store in Miami Lakes, Fla., joins 22 other South Florida MinuteClinic locations inside selected CVS/pharmacy stores. CVS acquired Navarro in July 2014, and it acquired MinuteClinic in 2006.

Navarro MinuteClinic_Miami Lakes_ext“This new location broadens both MinuteClinic’s and Navarro’s ability to serve patients in South Florida, including the Hispanic community in Miami Lakes and beyond,” said Dr. Andrew Sussman, president of MinuteClinic and executive vice president and associate chief medical officer of CVS Health. “Our experienced nurse practitioners help adults and children feel better every day and make it easier and more affordable to obtain basic health care services in convenient locations close to home, school and work.”

MinuteClinic locations in South Florida, including the one in the Miami Lakes Navarro store, are open seven days a week, with no appointment necessary.

The clinics accept most major health insurance plans, including Medicare and Medicaid. Treatment prices are posted at each clinic and on MinuteClinic’s bilingual website (www.minuteclinic.com). The cost for most services starts at $89 to $99.

MinuteClinic at Navarro is staffed by bilingual nurse practitioners who specialize in family health care and can diagnose, treat and write prescriptions for acute illnesses such as strep throat and ear, eye, sinus, bladder and bronchial infections. Minor wounds, abrasions, skin conditions and joint sprains are treated, and common vaccinations such as influenza, tetanus, pneumonia and hepatitis A and B are available.
