PITTSBURGH — GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare North America is evolving three key senior leadership roles to help drive its long-term growth strategy.

The pharmaceutical giant said Roger Scarlett-Smith, president of GSK Consumer Healthcare North America, will evolve his role to place greater emphasis on key strategic areas that will help facilitate GSK’s long-term growth and strategic planning initiatives. In his changing role, he will be interacting with key opinion leaders on regulatory and policy issues that impact the consumer health care industry.

Scarlett-Smith also will be placing more of his focus on GSK’s long-term growth strategy with emphasis on research and development, new product innovation, acquisitions, and driving North American synergy across the Canadian and Puerto Rican businesses, according to GSK. He currently plays an active role and serves on the board of the Consumer Healthcare Products Association (CHPA). He also plans to take an even more active role in the long-term strategic relationships with key customers.

With Scarlett-Smith’s role change, GSK Consumer Healthcare North America has appointed Greg Bradley as senior vice president of sales and U.S. operations.

In the role, Bradley will be responsible for leading GSK’s operating team that is responsible for delivering the day-to-day profit/loss statement (P&L) for the company. The team is ultimately responsible for delivering the business plan alignment across functional areas in marketing, supply, finance and sales, GSK said. Bradley will also maintain responsibility for GSK’s three sales forces (retail customer, medical and dental) and continue to report to Scarlett-Smith.

Also, Clark Brown has been named vice president of U.S. sales. A 24-year GSK veteran, Browh has served in several senior sales management positions, including as vice president of field sales over the past five years. In his new role, he will be responsible for building, executing and delivering annual business plans for all U.S. customers as well as leading people development initiatives for the entire U.S. consumer sales team, according to GSK. Brown will continue to report to Bradley.
