Co-founded and chaired by Academy Award-winning actress Geena Davis, the festival celebrates women and diversity in film and is the world’s only film competition to offer guaranteed theatrical, television, digital, video on demand, and retail home entertainment distribution for the winning films. The event is hosted by ARC Entertainment, AMC Theatres, Coca-Cola and founding sponsor Walmart.

Besides Dove, brands included in the VIB Lounge were Paris Presents Inc., TRESemmé, L’Oreal Paris, Hard Candy, Colgate Optic White, Constellation Brands, CoverGirl and Always.

The VIB Lounge was part of the Sponsor Village, which featured product experiences, samples and giveaways. Brands featured in the Sponsor Village included Coca-Cola, Kraft, Mars, Luna, Perrier, Oscar Meyer, Masterpiece, ConAgra Foods, Planters and Nickelodeon.

Celebrities expected at the festival included Robert de Niro, Courteney Cox, Rosie O’Donnell, Nick Cannon, Bruce Dern, Joey Lauren Adams, Soledad O’Brien, “Twilight” Director Catherine Hardwicke, Ben Barnes, Melissa Joan Hart, Alysia Reiner, Mo McRae, Judge Reinhold, Jenna Elfman, Khandi Alexander, country artists Sara Evans, Meg & Liz and The Railers, and Olympian Jennie Finch.

For the first time, Walmart — the largest seller of DVD and Blu-ray movies — awarded the winners in three categories (Jury Selection, Audience Award and Best Family Film) guaranteed distribution in its stores and online via its VUDU instant video-on-demand service.
