ARLINGTON, Va. — The HDA Research Foundation today announces it has awarded graduate-level scholarships to four pharmaceutical supply chain leaders. The program was recently renamed to honor Karen J. Ribler, the Foundation’s former COO who led the organization for nearly 10 years; Ribler passed away in June 2021.

“The past few years have proven that our country values healthcare supply chain expertise now more than ever. The first four recipients of the Karen J. Ribler Scholarship have dedicated themselves to continuing their education, not only for the greater good of their organizations but for the continued safety and reliability of the U.S. healthcare ecosystem,” said Perry Fri, Executive Vice President of Industry Relations, Membership and Education, HDA; and COO of the HDA Research Foundation. “The HDA Research Foundation is honored to carry forward Karen’s legacy as a fierce advocate for academic pursuit and developing the next generation of supply chain leaders.”

This graduate-level scholarship initiative, established in partnership with the Healthcare Distribution Alliance’s (HDA) Convene professional development program, develops the future growth of HDA member professionals, their companies and the healthcare supply chain. The program is open to industry professionals pursuing graduate degrees with at least two years of experience working for an HDA-member distributor or manufacturer company. Candidates were evaluated by the Foundation Board of Directors based on an essay and letters of support, among other requirements.
