HDMA gives Yost its highest honor

ARLINGTON, Va. — Retiring AmerisourceBergen Corp. chariman and chief executive officer R. David Yost has received the 2011 Nexus Award for Lifetime Achievement from the Healthcare Distribution Management Association’s (HDMA) Center for Healthcare Supply Chain Research.

The award, considered to be the distribution industry’s highest recognition, was presented at HDMA’s annual business and leadership conference in Phoenix earlier this month. It honors exceptional character, accomplishments and leadership in HDMA, the industry and the community.

“Dave embodies all of the attributes of the Nexus Award through his industry and community leadership,” HDMA president and chief executive officer John Gray says. “Throughout his career he has been a tireless champion for distributors and the customers they serve, yet, with all his success and accomplishment, he has remained humble and dedicated to his family and community.”

Yost, who will step down from AmerisourceBergen on July 1 has spent nearly 40 years in the the health care distribution industry
