Beauty players enlist social media stars to help boost brands
AMANDA STEELE
Amanda Steele was another early YouTuber who started posting makeup videos more than six years ago.
The beauty vlogger, who goes by MakeupByMandy24, has almost 3 million YouTube subscribers and 2.7 million Instagram (@amandasteele) followers.
Recently, she vlogged about drug store products for back-to-school featuring Eucerin, L’Oréal, Neutrogena, Revlon and Maybelline, and she professed her love of Real Techniques. Steele created a successful Amanda Steele X ColourPop collaboration last year.
She has extended her reach into modeling and into fashion collaborations — and all that at only age 17.
ZOE SUGG
Known as Zoella, Zoe Sugg is often ranked the influencer with the highest social media engagement. The industry has been moving more toward engagement versus just follower because the interaction is seen as having a bigger impact.
Sugg has a cross-platform reach of at least 30 million and became famous for her beauty hauls where she showed off what she got when shopping for cosmetics.
The British fashion and beauty vlogger also has her own beauty collection called Zoella beauty, sold in the U.S. at Ulta Beauty. Her Instagram (@zoella) sports 11.1 million followers who check in for her lifestyle postings.
HENRY VASQUEZ
While his reach isn’t as large as other beauty influencers, Henry Vasquez is getting big notice in the beauty world for his work with brands to assist with everything from packaging to going on the road teaching workshops on makeup.
He is also behind a new collection called Hankandhenrybeauty, which is all made in the USA, vegan and cruelty free.
His Instagram (@hankandhenry_) is at 140,000 followers.
