Beauty players enlist social media stars to help boost brands


NIKKIE DE JAGER

Maybelline recently tapped professional hair and makeup artist Nikkie de Jager for a YouTube series for its channel called “I Makeup Like This.”

Known for her Makeup Madness tutorials (www.nikkietutorials.com), de Jager has 7.4 million subscribers. Her Instagram, @nikkietutorials, has 8.2 million followers.

 

 

 

 


DEMARTINO TWINS

Gabi and Niki DeMartino started producing YouTube content ahead of many others at only 13 years old.

When fans started asking a lot of questions about makeup, they started a separate channel called NikiGabiBeauty. Now 22 years old, they have added singers to their resume with the release of their first single, but they continue to move the needle on beauty sales.

Niki has 2.3 million Instagram followers (@niki) and Gabi (@gabi) has 2.4 million.

 

 


CHRISTEN DOMINIQUE

Christen Dominique also hopped on YouTube early when she filmed how-to videos in 2009.

She’s since partnered with L’Oréal, Urban Decay and Sephora. She has 2.8 million YouTube subscribers, and she recently compared high-end cosmetics to drug store brands.

She used mass brands including Rimmel, L’Oréal, Maybelline and e.l.f. Dominique has 1.2 million Instagram followers (@christendominique).

 

 

 


CHIARA FERRAGNI

Known online as The Blonde Salad, Chiara Ferragni started a blog in 2009. Since then she’s become an “it” girl of social media.

She has 363,000 Instagram followers (@theblondesalad) and 71,000 YouTube subscribers. She was named a Global Pantene Ambassador in 2016.

Earlier this year, she became one of four faces selected by SKII to take part in a global campaign called “Face the Wild/Face the Camera Extreme Expeditions.
