Beauty players enlist social media stars to help boost brands

NAOMI GIANNOPOULOS

Known as Vegas Nay, the Mexican-American Naomi Giannopoulos has been prolific in the mass beauty market.

She collaborated on a line of artificial lashes for Eylure. She’s also been tapped by Too Faced cosmetics.

She has 8 million Instagram followers (@vegas_nay) and 196,000 subscribers to her YouTube, where she recently showed contouring using mass brands from NYX and L’Oréal.

WAYNE GOSS

Wayne Goss sports a YouTube channel with more than 3 million subscribers, where he offers tips gleaned from his makeup artist experience.

His beauty advice is doled out in easy and quick content — as opposed to 10-minute-plus segments typical of many other YouTubers. He launched an eponymously named brush line to deliver access to quality brushes to all.

He has 578,000 Instagram followers (@gossmakeupartist).

MANNY GUTIERREZ

Named as Maybelline’s first male ambassador earlier in 2017, Manny Gutierrez — better known as MannyMUA733 on the internet — is a male beauty vlogger with more than 3.5 million YouTube subscribers.

His Instagram (@mannymua733) touts 4 million followers. He recently collaborated with Jeffree Star on a makeup collection.

SHANNON HARRIS

New Zealander Shannon Harris, aka shaaanxo, jumped into the content business when she couldn’t find anyone posting locally the type of information coming out of the U.S.

Her Instagram account (@shaaanxo) has 1.5 million followers. She launched her own brand, Xo Beauty, in 2013. She has collaborated with BH Cosmetics and ColourPop.
