Beauty players enlist social media stars to help boost brands

AIMEE SONG

Aimee Song’s blog, Song of Style, is fashion and travel heavy.

But Song has made a mark in beauty, too, as an ambassador for Laura Mercier. Of Korean heritage, Song also partnered with SK-II and Dolce & Gabbana fragrances.

Her Instagram (@songofstyle) has 4.6 million followers.

JEFFREE STAR

Jeffree Star discovered makeup at the age of 13, copying looks from his mother’s magazines on MySpace.

He parlayed experience working on music videos, at makeup counters and in fashion editorials into creating his own line, Jeffree Star Cosmetics.

He’s known for his brutally honest road tests of beauty trends such as brow wigs or the KKW Powder Contour and Highlight Kit. Recently, Star launched a collaboration with Manny Gutierrez.

He has 5.1 million Instagram (@jeffreestar) followers and 5.2 million YouTube subscribers.

PATRICK STARRR

At the FACE Awards sponsored by NYX Cosmetics in August, Patrick Starrr served as the host and handed out the coveted Vlogger of the Year award while decked out in bedazzled attire.

It was a fitting look for the larger-than-life social media star who has built a following 3.5 million on Instagram (patrickstarrr) and 2.8 million subscribers on YouTube.

Earlier this year, Starrr shot a video Benefit Cosmetics commercial on getting eyebrows in shape.
