WASHINGTON — The Pharmaceutical Care Management Association (PCMA) is announcing the addition of IngenioRx as its newest member company.

IngenioRx provides pharmacy benefit management services to payers, including affiliates of Anthem, Inc. (ANTM), and is focused on bringing new clarity to the complicated world of pharmacy so members get the benefits they need in a way that’s simple and seamless. IngenioRx offers a whole-health approach that helps drive better outcomes and lowers member, employer, and plan costs by delivering member-centric solutions that eliminates much of the unnecessary complexity that slows down the delivery of care.

“We’re proud and excited to welcome IngenioRx to PCMA. As we advance our mission to promote the value of PBMs in reducing costs and facilitating care for consumers, patients, insurance plan sponsors, and the health care system, IngenioRx will be an integral addition to our table,” said PCMA president and chief executive officer JC Scott. “I look forward to working with Deepti Jain as a member of the PCMA Board of Directors. This is a critically important time for our industry to work together to speak with one voice.”

“I am thrilled to join the PCMA board of directors as a representative of both IngenioRx and the pharmacy benefits industry at large,” said IngenioRx president Deepti Jain. “As a society, the rising costs of prescription drugs presents a tremendous challenge and places undue burden on individuals. Through our clinical management and cost containment programs, pharmacy benefit managers play a pivotal role in helping to address this challenge, and I look forward to working with PCMA to elevate our voice on this important issue.”

PCMA is the national association representing America’s PBMs which administer prescription drug plans for more than 270 million Americans with health coverage through Fortune 500 companies, health insurers, labor unions, Medicare, Medicaid, and the Federal Employees Health Benefits Program, as well as the Exchanges established by the Affordable Care Act (ACA).
