Jean Coutu offers kit for new moms

LONGUEUIL, Quebec — The pharmacist owners affiliated with the Jean Coutu network are offering a free “New Mom Starter Kit” to customers.

Jean Coutu New Mom Starter KitThe Canadian drug chain said the kit will be distributed at the prescription counters in all Jean Coutu pharmacies.

Contained in a fabric pouch that is designed to fit easily into a maternity tote bag, the kit will include information pamphlets about children’s health, including helpful tips about newborn care, along with some product samples and discount coupons.

Jean Coutu Group is the official sponsor for the Parents & Kids Fair, a consumer trade show focusing on children from birth to age 6 that runs through this weekend at Place Bonaventure in Montreal and then will be held May 1 to 3 at Expo Cité in Quebec City.

“Pharmacists are often key resources for new parents. The New Mom Starter Kits, available throughout our network, will help our health professionals provide relevant additional information,” Richard Mayrand, senior vice president of pharmacy and government affairs at Jean Coutu Group, said in a statement.

Overall, Jean Coutu Group operates a network of 416 franchised drug stores in Quebec, New Brunswick and Ontario under the banners PJC Jean Coutu, PJC Clinic, PJC Health and PJC Health and Beauty.
