Katz Group Canada/Rexall chief development officer Warren Jeffery will retire at the end of this month.

Jeffery, who has also been serving as interim chief merchandising officer, is set to step down on October 31 after close to seven years with the company, including a stint as chief operating officer for the Rexall corporate store division, and 35 years in retail pharmacy.

“I feel honored to have been a part of the growth of Rexall in Canada,” Jeffery said in a statement. “There is a strong management team at Rexall and a genuine dedication to improving patient care and delivering a superior customer experience.”

Jeffery joined Rexall with a mandate to bolster the chain’s corporate store operations. He is credited with a key role in the rollout of more than 200 prototype stores, the development of progressive employer‐based and specialty programs, and the launch of Rexall Reminder Ready, a medication compliance program. He also was executive sponsor of the Rexall Healthy Living Store prototype.

“Warren has been at the helm of key organizational initiatives that have driven innovation in pharmacy care, improved medication compliance, and has set a solid foundation for future growth,” says chief executive officer Andy Giancamilli.
