NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. – Johnson & Johnson Consumer Companies Inc. has teamed up with the Walgreens Balance Rewards for healthy choices loyalty program to encourage and reward healthy behavior.
Under the partnership, the Johnson & Johnson Official 7 Minute Workout app has integrated with Walgreens Balance Rewards for healthy choices (BRhc) to enable program members to earn points by completing a workout using the app.
BRhc members can also earn Balance Rewards points by buying participating products within the Healthy Essentials program, which include such J&J brands as Johnson’s, Neutrogena and Listerine at Walgreens and Walgreens.com.
“Through our Balance Rewards for healthy choices program, Walgreens encourages members to adopt simple steps that can positively affect a person’s health, and collaborating with Johnson & Johnson Consumer Companies Inc. within our digital ecosystem can further enhance awareness and participation,” Adam Pellegrini, divisional vice president of digital health at Walgreens, said in a statement.
The Johnson & Johnson Official 7 Minute Workout app, availabe for iOS and Android devices, combines high-intensity aerobic and resistance training using body weight and limited rest, and J&J said the app is scientifically proven to provide better results than traditional programs in less time. The app, designed by Johnson & Johnson Health and Wellness Solutions Inc., has been downloaded nearly 1.5 million times and has been designated the No. 1 fitness app in more than 50 countries, according to the company.
“Human behaviors drive the vast majority of health care costs. Approximately 80% of adult Americans don’t get the recommended amount of exercise, and lack of time and energy are among the top reasons cited for not exercising. The Johnson & Johnson Official 7 Minute Workout app was designed to address these barriers,” stated Len Greer, president of Johnson & Johnson Health and Wellness Solutions, which serves as the center of excellence for the J&J’s capabilities in behavior modification, patient/consumer experience, health care analytics and coaching platforms. “Both Walgreens and Johnson & Johnson are committed to helping consumers live healthier and more vibrant lives by providing simple, effective and engaging solutions that are personalized to meet each individual’s unique needs.”
