GOUVERNEUR, N.Y. — Kinney Drugs will once again partner with American Greetings to offer a special one-day promotion on Veterans Day, Wednesday, November 11, 2020 in support of Honor Flight Network. For every American Greetings card purchased at Kinney Drugs (valued at $1.99 or more) on Veterans Day, Kinney Drugs and American Greetings will donate $1.00 to the local hubs of the Honor Flight Network. Last year’s promotion raised $3,000 for three local Honor Flight hubs: Syracuse, North Country, and New England.

Honor Flight, Inc. is a national non-profit organization created to honor America’s veterans for all their sacrifices. Honor Flight transports our nation’s heroes to Washington, D.C. to visit and reflect at their memorials – memorials that they otherwise may never see. The Honor Flight Network is comprised of more than 120 independent Hubs across the United States working together in furtherance of this mission. Participation in an Honor Flight trip gives veterans the opportunity to share this momentous occasion with comrades, to remember friends and comrades lost, and share their stories and experiences with other veterans. All honored veterans travel at no cost to the veteran. The Honor Flight Network is currently serving veterans from the World War II, Korea, and Vietnam eras and terminally ill veterans who served during any era. The local Hubs of Honor Flight within Kinney Country are: Syracuse (flying from Hancock International Airport in Syracuse NY), North Country (flying Plattsburgh International Airport in Plattsburgh, NY), and New England(flying from Boston Logan International Airport in Boston, MA, or Manchester-Boston Regional Airport in Manchester, NH).

“We are thrilled to partner with American Greetings to support Honor Flight on Veterans Day,” said Rebecca Bubel, R.Ph., President of Kinney Drugs. “Through Honor Flight, local veterans have an amazing opportunity to visit – many for the very first time – the national monuments for their branch of the military, as well as the memorials for the particular conflict(s) during which they so valiantly defended our freedoms. Honor Flight missions are emotional, healing experiences for many of our veterans, to whom we owe such a huge debt of gratitude. Kinney Drugs is proud to work with American Greetings in support of our local Honor Flight missions.”

“We are proud to partner again with Kinney Drugs and provide veterans in their area with an opportunity to visit our US national war memorials and monuments in Washington D.C.,” states Julie Jones, Vice President of US Sales & Shopper Marketing at American Greetings. “Aligning with Kinney Drugs to support the Honor Flight Network’s admirable work is another way for us to show our gratitude this Veterans Day to those who served our country.”

“The Honor Flight Network is once again grateful for the generous support of Kinney Drugs and American Greetings through this Veterans Day promotion,” states Meredith Rosenbeck, CEO of Honor Flight, Inc.  “The continuing support of our donors and sponsors make the Honor Flight mission of honoring all of our nation’s veterans with a trip to their memorials possible.”
