CINCINNATI — Kroger Co. is adding self-service health screening kiosks to all 1,950 of its stores with pharmacies.

“Our customers tell us they want to make healthy choices but don’t always know where to start,” says Matthew Feltman, Kroger’s health strategy coordinator. “We’re pleased to expand the availability of Kroger HealthCenters to help our customers take their first steps toward overall health and wellness.”

The Kroger HealthCenter kiosks, provided by the wellness solutions company Stayhealthy Inc., provide customers with a free and easy way to check their blood pressure, weight, body composition, BMI and color vision. They can also upload their blood glucose numbers and other biometric data.

Customers will be able to create personal health record accounts, which they can access anytime at Kroger.com to track their progress. They will also have access to health information and solutions to help them meet their personal goals, the company said.

Kroger has been piloting the kiosks in about 275 pharmacy locations since January. The retailer expects that most of its other pharmacy locations will have the kiosks by early 2013.
