L’Oreal Paris announces new professional ambassador

NEW YORK — New York City dermatologist Gervaise Gerstner, M.D., has been named as L’Oreal Paris USA’s new professional ambassador.

As consulting dermatologist for L’Oreal Paris, Gervaise will lend her professional insights to product development while providing an expert voice to consumers seeking advice on skin care, the cosmetics giant said Wednesday.

"Professionally, she is an incredible physician who is admired and respected by her peers, and personally she is a lovely and compassionate doctor and mother. L’Oreal noted that Gerstner combines the art of her dermatology practice with the latest cosmetic technologies to help people achieve the results they want. She treats men, women and children, addressing their skin care initial concerns to helping them maintain a lifelong commitment to optimal skin health. She is is a board-certified Manhattan dermatologist who has been practicing in New York for over 12 years, and she serves as assistant clinical professor of dermatology at Mount Sinai Medical Center where she volunteers in clinical and academic settings.

In addition, Gerstner is an associate member of the American Academy of Dermatology and the American Academy of Dermatologic Surgeons as well as an active member of the Dermatology Foundation and the Skin Cancer Foundation. She also has done research on a wide range of topics from chemical peels to melanoma and has been published in several top dermatologic journals, L’Oreal said.
