Lupin said Wednesday that Albertsons will offer the InspiraChamber, a valved holding chamber for the enhanced delivery of inhaled aerosol therapies, to patients in its more than 1,700 pharmacies in 35 states and the District of Columbia.
“We’re excited to partner with Lupin to provide this tool to our patients,” Dan Salemi, group vice president of pharmacy services at Albertsons, said in a statement. “We see our relationship with Lupin as a way to bring innovative, high-quality products that are easy to use and proven in managing health conditions to our shoppers. Making InspiraChamber our preferred chamber is another way to demonstrate our ongoing commitment to the highest level of patient care.”
The InspiraChamber is designed to help patients being treated for breathing conditions such as asthma, allergies and other lung impairments get more effective use from their inhalers by creating space between the mouth and the aerosolized medicine inhaler.
Lupin noted that this space helps the prescribed medicine move more easily into the lungs, optimizing its effect and minimizing the time that it takes patients to administer their inhaled medication.
The InspiraChamber also can be used with the InspiraMask contoured mask (available in small, medium and large sizes) and the SootherMask for babies, which features a slot for a pacifier.
“Our partnership with Albertsons Cos. is one of many initiatives Lupin Pharmaceuticals Inc. is taking to provide better access to the only valved holding chamber with a pacifier-ready mask that enhances the delivery of aerosol therapy,” stated Lupin Pharmaceuticals president Paul McGarty. “We continually strive to combine the latest technology with an ease of use design for patients, and we’re excited to be able to offer it to Albertsons Cos. patients.”
