CEO sees potential as exclusive brand in North America

NEW YORK — Maesa Group, an international designer and manufacturer of private-label and exclusive beauty care products, has acquired P2 Cosmetics, a leading beauty brand in Europe.

Maesa said Wednesday that the addition of P2 Cosmetics, sold exclusively at DM, Germany’s largest drug store retailer, expands its portfolio of exclusive beauty brands, which include Flower for Walmart, Circa for Walgreens and Elle for French retailer Monoprix.

P2 Cosmetics’ extensive lineup features high-quality formulas available at affordable entry price points. Sold in 1,800 DM stores across Germany, with more than 350 SKUs, the products are manufactured in Germany and France and are free of parabens and fragrances.

Plans call for P2 Cosmetics to continue to operate out of Vienna under the brand’s current leadership team.

According to Gregory Mager, founder and chief executive officer of Maesa Group, P2 Cosmetics also shows promise as an exclusive beauty offering for retailers in North America.

“P2 Cosmetics has a proven track record of bringing innovation to the cosmetic category,” Mager stated. “This brand has piqued a strong interest for expansion in the United States and Canada through an exclusive distribution model. Maesa’s business segments include exclusive brands for mass and drug retailers, private label for specialty retailers and outsourcing for beauty brands. Launching over 3,000 proprietary products a year, the company partners with more than 80 customers, including DM, Elizabeth Arden, Habitat, L’Oreal, Nocibe, Parlux, Pottery Barn, Primark, Ralph Lauren, River Island, Rue21, The Body Shop, Ulta, Walgreens, Walmart and Zara.
