The grocery and foodservice distributor said Tuesday that Maurici comes to the company from electronic cigarette and vaping product manufacturer NJoy, where he served as senior vice president of sales and distribution and played a key role in the company’s growth from a start-up to a billion-dollar valuation.

“Vito’s proven track record of driving results as well as his deep understanding of our industry, and our business, make him an invaluable addition to our grocery leadership team,” stated Tony Frankenberger, president of McLane Grocery. “These attributes, mixed with his established portfolio of relationships among the supplier and retail community, will contribute greatly to McLane’s continued success.”

Maurici’s experience also includes serving as vice president of sales for the Southwest at Altria, where McLane said he oversaw the strategy, execution and engagement of new product launches, merchandising programs and customer partnerships. He also led trade marketing efforts at Philip Morris International for the Central Europe, Middle East and Africa regions.

“McLane Grocery is well-known in the marketplace for innovative supply chain solutions and an unwavering commitment to help their customers succeed,” Maurici commented. “I look forward to joining the team and helping expand its already esteemed customer portfolio.”

With 80 distribution centers, McLane provides grocery and foodservice supply-chain solutions for convenience stores, mass merchants, drug stores and chain restaurants, delivering more than 50,000 consumer products to about 90,000 locations nationwide.
